Nature of karst terrain

Over 300 million years ago, limestone was melted by the rain and groundwater, creating the unique terrain of "HIRAODAI". You can experience various nature such as the "YOUGUNBARU" field that looks like a flock of sheep, the mortar-shaped depression "DOLINES", and the “limestone cave" where an underground river flows.

Recommended activities

Seasonal activities to fully enjoy HIRAODAI are available. You can experience nature through activities such as “harvesting vegetables” grown in HIRAODAI, the "bamboo shoot harvest" and the "blueberry harvest", as well as a "drum can bath" where you can take a bath while looking at the mountains.
